About us

1. Impact Design Lab is women led and centered tailoring, dressmaking and fashion design lab social enterprise that is aim to give equal opportunity to rural women in desperate abusive situations with dignified employment precisely in sewing, dressmaking and fashion design which will empower them to improve their lives and lives of their families. This is embedded to Champion the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 13.

Impact Design Lab is a rename of The Women’s Production Programme designed to offer ready employment to the women graduates at The Women’s Apprenticeship Programme which was established under Women Empowerment Programme by VARAS, a not profit organization. 

2. Impact Design Lab focuses on the use of sustainable/ethical fabric locally made in Ghana for it's clothing. This we believe is climate friendly, ultimately create local jobs and contribute to the overall development of local economies. Fabrics to be used are Kente, Batik Tie and Dye, GTP, Woodin, and ATL. Impact Design Lab was founded in January, 2022.

Our Believe

At Impact Design Lab, we believe women are the true agents of change and that when women are free to earn an income, statistics show they commit 85% of it to the development of their children therefore helping break the cycle of poverty.

Mission

To offer ready and descent employment to rural women in tailoring, dressmaking and fashion design to enable them earn a living.

To empower the rural woman to be economically and socially self reliant.
